Our mission at Excel In Learning Tutoring is to provide elementary students with engaging, skill-based instruction in ELA and Math to close learning gaps, build confidence, and lay the foundation for future academic success.
Meet the Founder
A U.S. Navy veteran and dedicated entrepreneur, Yolanda Samuels founded Excel In Learning Tutoring in 2017 out of a deep passion for helping children succeed academically and personally. She holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Early Childhood Education, and brings heart and expertise to every tutoring session. With hands-on experience as an assistant teacher for 4th through 6th grade and a background as an interventionist, Yolanda has worked closely with students falling behind in ELA and Math. Her intervention strategies and personalized approach helped children catch up and thrive. Her military background instilled discipline and structure, while her education and classroom experience fostered compassion and creativity. Today, she leads Excel In Learning with a clear mission: to ensure no child is left behind. We understand the importance of strong early education and are passionate about making learning fun, effective, and encouraging for young minds.
